Dr Mary Emeleus
MBBS BSc (Med) FRACGP Grad Dip Rural MMH (Psychotherapy) FASPM
Dr Mary Emeleus commenced psychiatry training in 2017 and works as a Stage 3 Psychiatry Trainee in Queensland.
Previously, she worked for 18 years as a GP with a mental health special interest, including nine years at Headspace sites working in Youth Mental Health, and also as a psychotherapist with both young people and adults. Mary remains an active member of the Australian Society for Psychological Medicine. At this current time, her training and the prospect of exams is taking up most of her professional energy but she still loves to contribute to medical education at all levels including teaching advanced mental health skills to GP registrars and to experienced GPs.
What do you do to relax?

Don Tillman's Standardized Meal System by Graeme Simsion
Why have you decided to join the ASPM Committee?
I've been on the committee for a long time and I wanted to continue to support ASPM by contributing some corporate memory. ASPM has been an important part of my professional life for over a decade, and I have found wonderful friends and mentors here.
Do you have any particular interests in the Education, Collegiate Connection, or Political Advocacy agendas of the ASPM?
Developing and delivering the ASPM Level 2 mental health training is one of my passions. For the time-being I will chair the Education Committee, and hopefully mentor some new educators for our program.
